Otium retirement community
As a homeowner at Otium, you'll gain exclusive access to a vibrant social hub designed for connection and community. Our spacious owners' lounge is the perfect place to meet and relax with neighbours, while the dedicated activity studio is available for resident organised classes and group activities. For a quiet escape, the IT suite and library provide a peaceful space for focused study, communication or to enjoy a good book. And for your convenience, our on-site launderette is ready to tackle those larger wash loads. Whether you're catching up over a coffee on the patio or tackling the morning crossword with friends, you’ll find plenty of inviting spaces to enjoy at Otium of Stocksbridge.
In addition you will also have the exclusive option to rent on-site car parking, garage and storage facilities, as well as use of a guest suite facilities for visiting family or friends. Your Concierge will be there to help, support and advise you every step of the way.
Communal facilities are locatated on the lower ground floor and second floor as shown on the floorplans below.

Owners lounge and IT suite/library:
We want all of our homeowners to fully buy-in to the Otium Living ethos and, to that end, provide several multi-use communal spaces, a comfy owners lounge and guest facilities for visiting family and friends. These are available to all Otium homeowners and are managed by your Concierge.
Entrance Lobby (Manchester Road entrance with ramp/mobility scooter access)
The entrance lobby is located off Manchester Road and has both ramp and step access, complimentary secure storage for mobility scooters and bicycles, staircase and lift to all floors.
Owners Lounge
The owners lounge, with adjoining kitchen area, is situated on the lower ground floor and is furnished with tables and plush seating. This is the ideal space for mixing with your neighbours or entertaining guests.
Laundrette
Most apartments have their own washing machine but Otium's complimentary laundrette can be used for larger wash loads and drying, it's also a good place to meet up..
Artist Studio
We have an artists studio situated on the second floor, the ideal place to explore your creative side.
Concierge Office, Mail Room, IT Suite and Library Room
The Concierge office is on the lower ground floor, this is your first point of contact for checking guest suite availability or booking the communal rooms/spaces. Situated next door, an IT suite fitted out with PC stations, printer and scanner along with the adjoining sharing library/reading room.
The adjacent mail room is where you’ll find your own personal post box and package drop off area. These are all located on the lower ground floor.
Guest Suite
Otium has a guest suite for friends and family, situated on the second floor. This can be booked via the Concierge.
Activities Studios
We have two rooms set aside for group activities. Each of these is suitable for yoga, pilates, or even dance classes for the more adventurous.

With Sandra one and Sandra two, they've also
got a downstairs loo. A gorgeous lounge with lovely
lights, and extra special Friday nights!
The 'Yorkshire Post' grows old all week, its Stocksbridge
'Look Local' most of us seek.
Our washers and spinners fill us with glee
especially because each one of them's free!
Chairobics on Tuesday is popular with many, the main
pleasure being it costs not a penny.
Jigsaws a plenty for one (young) old codger - and
you've guessed it already, his name is Roger.
It's not so surprising we all love this place,
it's homely, it's friendly and everyone's 'Ace'.
So here's to our future, our lovely abode,
may the day never come when we need a commode!
